Aussie Rules Football in Manchester

The Manchester Mosquitoes Australian Rules Football club are hosting and competing in the 2013 Central and Northern England Grand Final at Burnage Rugby club this Saturday 27th of July.

The Manchester “Mozzies” will be competing against The Leeds Minotaurs for the 2013 Australian Football League Central and Northern England Premiership. Leeds have thus far gone undefeated this season, and the Mozzies look forward to the opportunity to defend their 2012 premiership against this strong side on our home turf.

The day will be held at the Mosquitoes’ home ground – Burnage Rugby Club (Battersea Road, SK43EA) from 12 noon on Saturday the 27th of July, with the main game beginning at 2pm. The bar will be open, and a BBQ and Raffle will run in support of the club.

The \”Mozzies\” would like to welcome anyone interested to attend the club on the day and entry is free. This is a fantastic opportunity to witness some competitive Australian rules football and is sure to be an excellent day out.

The Manchester Mosquitoes and the league work hard to develop Australian Rules Football in the UK. This exciting sport is described by some as a mix between football, rugby and basketball, and shares some similarities with Gaelic Football.
