Wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill may have known about aliens as far back as the 1950s a sensational new book claims.
Codename Angel, a historical science fiction novel based on true events that occurred in the 1950s during Churchill second term in office.
During the summer of 1952 Churchill wrote a memo to his head of science division Lord Cherwell wanting to know more about flying saucers.
What does all this stuff about flying saucers amount to? What can it mean? What is the truth? Let me have a report at your convenience.
Author Jason Chapman first had the idea for the book when he downloaded Churchill’s memo from the national Archives in 2012. ‘I thought it would make an interesting storyline for a book.’ Jason stated. ‘After I downloaded Churchill’s flying saucer memo I discovered more documents relating to a group which operated in total secrecy during the 1950s. Known as the Flying Saucer Working Party it was made up of both scientific and military personnel including radar pioneer Henry Tizard who felt that flying saucers warranted further investigation.’
The 46 year old defence worker from Abergavenny in South Wales started to write Codename Angel which follows a Cambridge Professor who is part of a top secret group known as The Angel Committee. My main character doesn’t believe in flying saucers and little green men, until he has a very close encounter with three UFOs at an RAF base in the north of England.
The main character, Professor Ralph Frederick is then sucked into a world where he is up against both KGB and CIA agents who seem to want to learn all they can about the British Government’s knowledge of UFOs. Frederick also has to battle some very nasty aliens hell bent on taking over our planet.
‘I have set the book during the Cold War because it is one of the most fascinating periods in history. There is still information on the cold war which is highly classified and UFOs are one of those secrets. Back in the 1950s paranoia was rife, people seeing spies and UFOs almost on a daily basis.’
During his time as a researcher Jason discovered that Winston Churchill wasn’t the only high profile figure to have an interest in UFOs. Price Phillip himself expressed an interest in the subject and used to dispatch royal equerry Peter Horsley to investigate UFOs all over the UK. Horsley went on to write an autobiography called Sounds from Another Room in which he described meeting a mysterious stranger in 1954 known only as Mr Janus. Many UFO experts believe that Mr Janus was actually an alien being capable of taking human form and walking amongst the population.
There are millions who believe in UFOs worldwide. The phenomena cannot simply be dismissed as swamp gas or weather balloons. Now that we know that our solar system in not unique and there are possibly billions of other planets out there, it’s only a matter of time before discover life beyond planet earth.
