Graduate job opportunities are on the rise according to the latest figures, showing half of the top 100 businesses in the UK have expanded their graduate positions over the past quarter. Specialist recruitment firm Navartis Ltd have made contributions on a local level by advertising for extra graduate positions available this summer.

Navartis Ltd is a technical and project management recruitment firm, placing candidates globally in Transportation and Utilities industries. Based in Doncaster, they have expanded their graduate vacancies due to the increase demands of business.

High Fliers Research, who conducted the research, shows that the number of graduates applying for the same positions has risen to an average of 46 applicants per vacancy, demonstrating the high quality of applicants currently looking for placements after their university qualification has ended.

The research also stated that around 1/5 of those surveyed have kept positions at the same level this year and we saw half increase positions, with 24 of the top 100 companies offering at least 20 new vacancies.

Britain’s graduate vacancies are at its highest level for 5 years and this is set to rise in 2014 both nationally and locally. But benchmarking graduate vacancies in 2013 with those available six years ago shows that recruitment is still well below pre-recession levels with the number of vacancies on offer this year remaining more than 10% lower than in 2007.
