The latest line up of speakers and agenda sessions have been announced for the RE.WORK The Future of Robotics Forum taking place in London on 14 October.

The Future of Robotics Forum will bring together 50 technologists, entrepreneurs, researchers, and industry leaders to explore advancements in robotic technology and to discuss the challenges in commercialising robotics.

Efforts to commercialise robotics research face numerous challenges including capital investment, public perception, health and safety concerns and technology readiness. This event will explore key barriers to the technology transfer of robotics to market, focusing on the valuable application of the autonomous technology and potential impact, plus the challenges to uptake by industry, and how to return the investment.

The aim is to encourage faster market take-up of robotics technology to tackle global challenges in industry and society.

The speakers we’ll be hearing from include:
Mirko Kovac is director of the Aerial Robotics Laboratory at the Aeronautics Department at Imperial College London. His research interest is the development of next generation Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
Silas Adekunle, founder of Reach Robotics, will present his insights into the current state of the entertainment robotics market, where the industry is headed and how this links in with education and STEM.
Sebastian Conran is a designer who likes to transform science & technology into user-experiences and culture. He takes an holistic user-centric approach to his work, covering the entire innovation journey from concept to consumer, through to manufacturing implementation, and marketing.
Ladislas de Toldi is CEO at Leka, a young startup which develops smart and innovative toys for children with disabilities. A former biotech engineer, Ladislas started working on Moti, a spherical robotic smart toy for autistic children, 3 years ago.
Tony Prescott is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and the Director of the Sheffield Centre for Robotics, a cross-institutional robotics facility with over eighty active researchers. His research focuses on the development of biomimetic robot platforms that include control systems model on the mammalian brain.
Mathew Holloway is the Managing Director of Q-Bot where he leads the development and commercialisation of innovative robotics technologies for the construction industry.
Glenn Smith is a technology entrepreneur who is co-founder and CEO of MapleBird, a start-up at the forefront in the development of insect scale UAVs. Previously he was a director of oneDrum, a software start-up that had a cutting edge data synchronisation technology.
