About the Book:

The book is designed to encourage the reader to reflect on what is causing stress in their life, how this stress is affecting them and how they might make changes in their situation and in themselves in order to make their life less stressful. There are questions to encourage thinking and spaces for making notes.

Initially the reader is asked to consider whether there are aspects of their life that can be changed and if so, to focus their energies on bringing about these changes. From then on the book focuses on how stress can affect them: their mind, their body and their spirit. They may recognise some of the thoughts, symptoms and feelings described. It goes on to give practical advice to help life become less stressful for them. This advice focuses on helping the reader control anxious thoughts, on ways to look after their body and to restore their spirit. It also gives some general advice which may be helpful.

It is hoped that through the process of reading this book and reflecting as they go, readers will gain a greater understanding of themselves and the way they respond to stressful situations and events. Through this process they will become more empowered to make changes which will hopefully make their lives more manageable and enjoyable.

This book offers a practical guide for easy reference which can be carried in a pocket or handbag. It is designed to be user friendly and focused on the individual so that every reader will have a unique experience from reading it and one that can grow over subsequent readings.

Excerpt from the book:
When a person is stressed it affects their mind (thoughts and thinking habits), their body (resulting in a variety of symptoms) and their spirit (that part of us tied up with our emotions which affects how we feel). All are linked and overlap.

The aim of this book is to help you identify:

Stressors in your life

Whether you are coping with these stressors or whether you are struggling

What you can do to help yourself cope better and feel less stressed

It is hoped that this book will help you become more self-aware so that you can make the necessary changes in yourself and, wherever possible, in your situation, to make life less stressful.
