The book aims to equip readers with the confidence to challenge and question decisions relating to their bodies through shared knowledge and experiences, hopefully changing lifestyle attitudes along the way.
Travelling the world in search of any treatment which could save or extend Joe’s life, Julie rapidly increased her knowledge about cancer, gained through relentless research, thereby allowing her to converse with oncologists about Joe’s treatments and hence make informed choices. In this book, Julie accurately describes the various medical and alternative treatments and diets which they explored, some beneficial and some detrimental.
Joe’s ‘rags to riches’ life story is inspiring, as are the heart–warming recollections of a wife fighting to save the man that she loves with everything that she has. Sadly, the war was lost and Joe died, but there were many battles won along the way which kept Joe alive for seven years.
Julie was married to Joe for twenty-six years. She began her writing career in 1995 when she successfully self–published ‘No Flight of Fancy’ which was a best–selling book looking at the subject of pigeon breeding. At that time a well–respected pigeon breeder, her advice helped thousands of pigeon breeders to gain success.
The focus of her work is medical and health books with self–help and improvement at their centre. Today Julie is a successful businesswoman and writer. She lives in West Yorkshire, England, with her family close by.
